If there was an option for "six stars", that defines our meal and experience! The food was "over the top". All meats were great and all sides were too. We tried the brisket, sausage and turkey. All were great. Sampled three sauces and it was difficult to pick a favorite. Per the three sides, those were very unique and so tasty. Also had the homemade Peach Cobbler. Oh my, that was heavenly! And, it was a treat to meet John & Mary Ann (owners) plus Ally (waitress). All were super friendly and very servant minded! Overall, exceptional experience! So glad Pagosa Springs has this superb addition for us Foodies!

Wow! Great BBQ but mostly the most interesting, tasty sides. A vegan could make a delicious meal just from the sides. Plus they have 3 types of homemade sauces which are great options. We loved the whole food experience and will definitely be back.

What an amazing find so far away from central Texas. We were coming back from a long hike when we found some of the best BBQ we have had in a long time. The brisket and bacon brisket were perfectly complimented by the sides. You could tell everything was made with passion. I also got the chance to talk to the owners and pit master and I could tell they shared my love of BBQ. I can’t wait for our next trip back to Pagosa and more importantly a stop at Square Top Bar-B-Que! P.S. Even their pickles, onions, bread and sauces are top notch.

Great addition to the Pagosa food scene Just found out about Square Top Bar B Q and got a variety of meats and sides for take out. Everything was outstanding! All the meats were spot on and the sides were some of the best Q sides I'd ever had. John and his wife are both super nice and dedicated to bringing quality bar b q to Pagosa Springs. It's located at the golf course club house. Stop in for the best bar b q/food in PS.

Great Texas BBQ in Colorado A Sunday evening, not many places were open. My sister, who is 100 years old and lives in a nursing home nearby, loves Texas BBQ so we decided to try the Square Top. And the next day was my wife's birthday so it was a tufer. It was everything we wanted with one exception, plastic forks (more on that to come). We had a beef rib, smoked turkey and brisket plus the Mexican Corn and the Slaw. The slaw, described in another review as best they ever had, was exactly that: best I've ever had. I wish we had a double order! The setting is a little strange in that it is in a bar but with a killer view. I'm sure in the summer, the deck is the place to be. So the plastic forks: all the utensils were plastic but the problem with the forks is the tips break off in the meat! Keep the plastic knives and spoons if you must but ditch the forks!

For starters this restaurant is at a strange location for barbecue. It's at the golf course as the "19th hole." Usually barbecue restaurants are at a hole in the wall but don't let this fool you, this barbecue is excellent. They start with a prime cut of brisket and cook it slowly. Great moist flavor with a dark bark. If you want a lighter meal their turkey is beautifully smoky, moist and tender. If you have a chance try their beef ribs, a special on Sunday and don't pass it by. These ribs seem as big as a dinosaur bone and are a savory masterpiece. As for the sides their Mexican street corn is seasoned well and a great complement to the barbecue. Their cole slaw with red cabbage and cranberries was tangy and a tad sweet. I sure would like to see mac and cheese as a side dish. We have been to Top Square 4 times and every single time they are out of the peach cobbler. I cannot wait to try the cobbler. Also, the service was very helpful. It would be nice if they had a phone that rings in the restaurant. This seems like a simple fix.

Delicious bbq! Square Top Bar-B-Que came highly recommended. I popped in and placed an order to go at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. The bbq sandwich was tasty, tender and had great smoked flavor. The green chili grits are the bomb diggity! So good! I tried all three sauces and the tomato based sauce was my favorite. I added some fresh onion and jalapeños to the sandwich and it was delightful! Planning a Sunday visit soon for the ribs! Give Square Top a try! You'll be glad you did!

We are from Texas and wanted to try Square Top BBQ. We had the Trinity plate with brisket, turkey and sausage. All the meats were fantastic! We had the Mexican Corn and Chili Cheddar Grits for sides. They were great! The peach cobbler with ice cream was the best I’ve ever had! This new restaurant located at the golf course in Pagosa Springs is wonderful! Best BBQ in Pagosa Springs!

I don't normally leave reviews, but the locals here in Pagosa have one of the best BBQ places in Colorado! I have traveled all over the US and being a native from Texas, I can honestly give the chef high marks for both the meats and the sides. Btw, the desserts are also amazing!

This was our second time eating Bar-B-Cue at Square Top and they knocked it out of the ballpark. They serve massive, mouth watering beef ribs on Sunday. The meat was moist, tender, had a nice smoke taste and excellent bark. Also their brisket and all the trimmings were superior over any I have tried in Pagosa/Durango area. Don't leave without trying their side dish of Mexican street corn. It's nice to have barbecue of this caliber in Pagosa.

Beau is a master smoker. Square top is great for some post golfing feed or just for a lovely lunch with friends. The brisket and pulled pork is to die for. Love the green chili grits, pimento pasta salad and street corn.

Wife and I were up from Austin a couple of weeks ago. Had three meal during our stay and they were all amazing! French dip is top 5 all time for me for sure. Cubano was fantastic and the beef ribs were killer (have to pre-order for Sunday cook)! Amazing BBQ! Highly recommend if you are in town!

Incredible French Dip sandwich blew me away! The au jus is so delicious that I took the rest home and the green Chile horseradish sauce was perfect. I will definitely be eating this frequently. Also, the chopped brisket sandwich is to die for. I will come back for the beef rib someday, it looks very decadent. The huge deck area has officially opened and the view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. You should come eat here, definitely!!!!

Wonderful lunch spot in Pagosa Springs We had the pleasure of dinner at the Square Top grill at the Pagosa Golf Club yesterday. The view is amazing and the owners and staff are beyond gracious. The chef prepared the most delicious French dip sandwich I have ever had- it was full of filet mignon which puts it in another league. My husband had the chopped brisket sandwich which was equally delicious. There are several great beers on tap plus numerous beers in the case. They smoke their own meats daily on premise. I would recommend a stop for an outstanding lunch complete with a beautiful view, friendly staff, great chef and outstanding owners. Can’t wait to go back for the ribs which looked amazing!

Texans loved this Colorado BBQ The restaurant overlooks the golf course, so the setting is beautiful. We watched the owner smoking meat, so we knew it was fresh. Both the brisket and the turkey were delicious. The sides are outstanding. The red cabbage/cranberry slaw may be the best slaw I've ever eaten, and the corn casserole if wonderful.

I drove from Austin Texas for this central Texas BBQ. It is fantastic! The view from the restaurant is the best in Pagosa Springs. Get there early the food is so good they sell out fast. I had the beef ribs. ~ 1 lb each. Available on Sundays.
